SUNJEM PRIVATE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

At Sunjem Private School, the belief is that children should not be denied their fundamental right to education due to their parents’ inability to pay for their education. Consequently, the School set up a Scholarship Scheme to take care of the indigent children. This scheme has been in operation since 2003. In addition, the School awards tuition fee scholarship to the best overall pupil/student every term. This is to encourage excellence and healthy academic competition amongst the children.
The scholarship program is designed to cover two broad areas of award – Direct and Indirect.

SCHOLASHIP CATEGORIES

This scheme is meant to support three main categories of beneficiaries

The Indigent

Those who are desirous of being in school or are in school but cannot afford the cost.

Academic Excellence

Recognition of academic achievement and academic competition amongst the students.

Special Skills

An award or prize money to best student in specific areas of study, e.g. Sciences, Fine-Art,etc.

FUNDING THE SCHEME

The School relies solely on tuition to fund its operations, including financial assistance to deserving students. These fees are grossly inadequate and currently over stretched as SPS continues to make Nursery, Primary and Secondary education affordable to children who could not otherwise afford it.

Children are the most valuable gift from the creator, and it is the desire of parents that their children excel in life. Therefore, the best legacy that can be given to the children is quality education.

Sunjem Private School seeks affirmative action and positive collaboration with education-friendly organizations, religious bodies and good-hearted individuals to fund this laudable scheme.

By contributing to Sunjem Private School(SPS) Scholarship Scheme or sponsoring a child today, you are:

  • Complementing the efforts of government to provide “education for all”;
  • Helping to eliminate social vices from the society;
  • Getting rid of street children who otherwise should be in school but could not afford the cost;
  • Building a better society and giving hope to future generation.

In addition, your name will be indelibly listed in the School prospectus and in all its printed matter. You will receive recognition and credit in all the School’s social and educational programs.
